Drive through Tilaran and Canas then merge onto the Interamerican Highway en route to Liberia, the capital of the Guanacaste Province. Check out of the hotel and start the 5 hour drive back to San Jose. Depart from Tamarindo / Conchal / Flamingo area and drive back to the town of Belen. Veer south (right) and drive past the cities of Santa Cruz and Nicoya as you follow signs to the bridge over the Tempisque River. This bridge is Costa Rica’s longest and places you close to the Interamerican Road. As you reach this main road, veer east (right) following signs to Puntarenas.
