Thanksgiving 2010 Itinerary
  Day 1: Nov 20
Arrive at San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport where you will be met by our Memorable Costa Rica reps and transferred to the renowned Intercontinental Hotel. Following check-in, take the rest of the afternoon to explore the city or just relax in the hotel. At sundown, we will have a typical Costa Rican Dinner at the hotel followed by group activities. You can then enjoy the hotel or turn in early to rest up for the exciting day to come.
  Day 2: Nov 21
Following breakfast, we will head for the cloud forest region of Monteverde. This beautiful 4 hour drive starts at the Interamerican Highway heading northwest towards the Guanacaste savannah. Pass numerous ranches, farms, and coffee plantations until reaching the base of Monteverde. We will veer north and start the climb to the cloud forest region. Witness the change in vegetation and climate as we ascend the mountain and take in the spectacular views.   Day 3: Nov 22
Following a hearty breakfast, we will embark on a full day tour (3 separate tours) in the cloud forest at the Sky Tram/Sky Walk/Sky Trek Park. Start off on the Sky Walk (guided hanging bridges tour) with the opportunity to explore the Cloud Forest from three different perspectives: from the ground, from the mid section and from above. Spot various species of flora and fauna which inhabit the different levels of the forest and take in the magnificent views.   Day 4: Nov 23
Following breakfast, we will make the 4 hour drive to Manuel Antonio. This picturesque, winding road brings us down from Monteverde to the Interamerican highway. We will head southeast, driving parallel to the Pacific Ocean, past several ports and small towns. We will stop at the Tarcoles River to see the enormous American Crocodiles sunning at the edge of the river. Arrive in Manuel Antonio and take the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the amenities of the hotel including three swimming pools, a wonderful spa, tennis courts and two bars.
  Day 5: Nov 24
Following breakfast, we will take a tour of the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park. Spot interesting wildlife including four species of monkeys, sloths, iguanas and myriad species of birds. Upon conclusion of tour, we will spend the rest of the day on one of the country’s most beautiful and undeveloped beaches.
  Day 6: Nov 25
Free day to enjoy the resort and the Manuel Antonio region.



  Day 7: Nov 26
Choose from three tours. Following breakfast (time to be determined based on tides), we board kayaks for the Damas Island Estuary Tour. Wind through acres of a protected, pristine Costa Rican estuary and keep your eyes peeled for caimans, sloths, stunning rainbow boas, white face monkeys, egrets, and other myriad species of flora and fauana. For those not wanting to paddle, there is also an option to take this tour in an eco friendly motorized boat. The third tour option is horseback riding in the rainforest.   Day 8: Nov 27
Last morning to enjoy the resort. We will head back to San Jose and stop for lunch at a scenic restaurant along the way. Upon arrival in San Jose, check back into the Intercontinental and enjoy the amenities of the hotel. Dinner will be at a delightful restaurant where memories and stories of the past week will be shared.
  Day 9: Nov 28
Day 9: Nov 28 You will be transferred to the airport for your return trip home.
