April 2010 Itinerary
April 17
Participants will arrive at San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport throughout the day. Following check-in, take the rest of the afternoon to explore the city or just relax in the hotel. At sundown, we will have a welcome dinner with drinks. You can then enjoy the hotel casino or turn in early to rest up for the exciting day to come.
April 18
Following breakfast at the hotel, we will visit Sharai Zion, one of the most beautiful shuls in Latin America. Upon concluding our visit, we will start the beautiful 2 hour drive west to the central pacific shores of Punta Leona. Arrive and enjoy the amenities of the hotel, the warm waters of the Pacific, and the gorgeous beach.
April 19
Following breakfast, we will make the 1.5 hour drive south east to the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park. Enjoy this guided tour through one of the jewels of the Costa Rica National Park System. We will have the opportunity to spot four species of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, coatimundis, and a wide range of birds and reptiles. After the tour, spend some in the park and relax on the pristine beaches.
April 20
Day at leisure to enjoy the hotel, the beaches, the lush tropical rainforest or embark on optional tours.

April 21
Last morning to enjoy the hotel and region. We will then make the 3 hour+ drive to the Arenal Volcano region. This drive will take us along the Central Pacific shores and then up over the mountains surrounding the Central Valley. We’ll continue into the flatlands of San Carlos until arriving at Arenal Manoa. After getting settled in, we will take a tour of the The Arenal Volcano National Park. We will take a trail to the active side of the volcano—this trail traverses the rainforest and crosses over previous lava flows. Observe a great variety of plants, wildlife and magnificent lava rock formations. The hike ends at a viewing area where, weather permitting, we will be able to see red hot lava rolling down the side of the volcano.
April 22
Choose from three full day tours The Cano Negro Floating Safari Tour is a tour on a covered motorized boat down the Rio Frio, one of the most biologically diverse areas of Costa Rica. Frequent sightings include monkeys, sloths, caimans, lizards, turtles, myriad species of birds, and a tremendous array of tropical flora. The Sarapiqui Class III Whitewater Rafting Adventure is a tour down the swift, spectacularly beautiful Sarapiqui River. Wind through lush tropical wilderness and take in the magnificent scenery. The third tour option is the Canyoning Tour. Arrive at a remote waterfall canyon and rappel down 5 routes into the water below. Rappels range from 20-50 meters—this activity is sure to get your blood flowing. In the early evening, we will head over to the Eco Termales Hot Springs to relax in 100 degree+ thermal pools. After time in the pools, a traditional Costa Rican dinner will be served.
April 23
Final morning to enjoy the Arenal region. In the early afternoon, we will transfer back to the Corobici in San Jose. This picturesque, winding road passes through San Carlos, San Ramón and then over the Central Valley Mountains into San Jose. Evening at leisure in San Jose.
April 24
Free day to relax at the hotel, take an optional tour, or go to shul. In the afternoon, a walking tour of San Jose will be offered.

April 25
Throughout the day participants will be transferred to the San Jose International Airport to check into flights back home.
