Arrive at San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport where you will be met by our Memorable Costa Rica reps and transferred to the Sheraton Hotel located in the Western Escazu suburb of San Jose. Following check-in, take the rest of the afternoon to explore the area or just relax in the hotel. That evening we will meet up for a Welcome Dinner to mix and mingle with your new travel friends and your tour guide. After dinner, have drinks at the hotel bar, or just turn in early to get ready for the busy week ahead.
Day 2: July 26th
Following breakfast, we will first visit the Sharai Zion Synagogue, one of the most beautiful shuls in Latin America, where you will learn a little bit of history about the Costa Rican Jewish Community. We will then take off towards the northern mountains of the Central Valley through the Poas Volcano Cloud Forest region until we arrive at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, famous for its spectacular waterfalls and home to several species of local birds, butterflies, sloths, monkeys and a safe haven for large cats. After finishing the tour of La Paz, enjoying a delicious lunch and hiking the waterfalls, we will then begin the 2 ½ hour drive heading down towards the flatlands of San Carlos, until arriving late afternoon to the Arenal Volcano region and the world-renowned Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort, our hotel for the next two days.

Relax in Tabacon’s famously delicious natural hot springs before meeting later that evening for a group dinner. Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the Leading Spas of the World and recognized by both Spa Finder’s Readers´ Choice Awards and Travel & Leisure, it´s the most renowned hot springs spa. This 102-room property offers luxurious accommodations and friendly service in a quaint, tropical environment. Known as the adventure capital of Costa Rica, the Arenal Volcano/Fortuna area offers numerous activities, ranging from exciting white water rafting, canyoning and caving to more leisurely hikes through the rainforest and soothing swims in hot springs. With its rolling hills, cattle farms, rainforest, and Costa Rica’s largest lake, the Arenal area’s verdant landscape is a cornucopia of bio-diversity.
